NURSERY The nursery was established in 1970 by David and Barbara Bruer. Vines were propogated as dormant rootlings and callused cuttings. These rootlings were planted into vineyards. From those early times the Temple Bruer Nursery has grown quite large. Products produced now are the dormant rootlings, callused cuttings, potted vines and grafted potted vines. We can also do contract callusing, dormant rootlings, potted vines and grafted potted vines. Potted Vines The vines start off as callused cuttings and are then planted into biodegradable pots, which break down in the soil. These vines are grown in greenhouses for approximately six weeks and are then placed into the shade house for another two weeks before going into the sun for one week to harden up. The potted vines need extra care but once growing will perform as well as or better than dormant rootlings.
