Eden Valley has an unenviable reputation for producing some of this nation's best cool climate wine. For more than a century, the region has produced some of Australia's best Shiraz & Riesling.
This cool climate vineyard was purchased by Temple Bruer in 2011. Planting of this vineyard started with Riesling and Traminer in the early 80's. This has been followed with plantings of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvingnon, Shiraz and Merlot over the last two decades.
Of the 26 hectares of vines planted, the main varieties are Pinot Noir, Riesling and Shiraz, with smaller plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Traminer. A small block will be top worked to Pinot Meunier.
This vineyard is currently in pre-certification to organic.
